ASHLEY BRIAN FONSEKA began his life long partnership with tea since 1957 as an apprentice tea planter and left at the zenith of his career as a senior planter/Director of large tea gardens to found his own company as a family business "ASHLEY TEAS" together with his son DINESH FONSEKA.

DINESH FONSEKA took a particular fondness for his "old mans' legendary passion-TEA. He first joined Ceylon's first tea brokering firm in 1993 and then branched off to work with a few leading tea exporting firms in Sri Lanka where he learnt the fine art of tea tasting, buying & blending, flavouring & packaging, marketing & exporting teas to the world over.

ASHLEY served on all the major planting districts of this beautiful island of Ceylon, be it up country - home for the chilly hill station Nuwara Eliya, renowned for its Champagne teas or the Dimbulla/Dickoya's associated with the bright liquoring,coloury western's to the Mid growns,where strength and robustness of its teas are very much in demand and of course to the low grown areas of the low lands of Sri Lanka - ASHLEY worked tirelessly in all these elevational categories and paid specific attention to tea manufacturing and become an expert tea taster which enables him to ensure that ASHLEY'S TEAS contains only the choicest of teas.

Today "ASHLEY'S TEAS "then means: here's a tea that has a pedigree that few could really match.
